Ahrenshooper "Wasserfarben"
Ahrenshoop - reflecting (on) colours In 1889, painters Paul Müller-Kaempff and Oskar Frenzel 'discovered' Ahrenshoop, a small settlement on the Baltic coast they had never heard of before. Müller-Kaempff soon set up his first artists' colony. Ever since, the light and landscapes of Ahrenshoop have attracted many other artists, including Berthold Brecht, Uwe Johnson, George Grosz, Edmund Kesting, Hans Kinder, Gerhard Marcks, Hans Brass, Käthe Miethe, etc.
