A large suitcase, a leather briefcase and several cardboard boxes; some three hundred personal photographs; private, professional and official documents; an eclectic medley of objects, snatches of conversation, looks exchanged … This precious, but fragile, collection of memorabilia is what remains of the life of Mr W.
Our paths crossed on numerous occasions. While I accompanied him in the final two or three years of his life, Mr W allowed me to get close to him but I never photographed him: there was often something pressing to be dealt with. Sometimes he would talk to me in his sleep. Sometimes, even today, I still hear him – and answer him – in mine.
The book 'Monsieur W.' (144 pages, 79 photographs, text in French and English) was published in 2019 by Husson Editeur, Brussels (see Publications/Catalogues).
